Excerpt from the Ridgway Record: "When the marchers reached this first group of people, there was considerable amount of heckling and some pushing and shoving as the peace protestors tried to make their way through the crowd.  A few of the more vociferous hecklers began to walk along the line of march shouting derogatory comments at the marchers, but there were no actual incidents of violence".
